Job Description

Fortify’s operations are growing and we are looking for a leader that can scale up and lead resin production and print services operations, which includes printing parts for internal and external customers. The manufacturing manager will be responsible for managing production schedules, people development, facilities, environmental health and safety (EH&S) and budgets in both departments. They will be responsible for building a great working environment, implementing lean principles, and ensuring that their organization’s objectives remain aligned to Fortify’s strategic goals. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build high-functioning, effective teams that are aligned with Fortify’s culture and values
  • Oversee the daily operations and performance of resin production and print services operations
  • Champion safe, high-quality operations while continually looking for ways to improve performance
  • Lead the Fortify safety committee and ensure a safe working environment
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, including resin production
  • Establish, track and achieve KPIs for production, quality, safety, cost and team performance
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support corporate objectives
  • Set clear expectations and metrics for team members, and hold them accountable for performance of their areas of responsibility
  • Work closely with sales and engineering to understand customer and business needs and create production schedules to meet them
  • Provide product feedback to engineering teams for new product development and continual improvement
  • Manage production facilities, including overseeing maintenance operations and planning improvements and expansion
  • Lead ISO and ITAR initiatives in areas of responsibility

Required Skills:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset as a self-starting, high-energy problem solver
  • Team player who can maintain a positive attitude and is comfortable working hands-on in a team environment
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent project management and communication skills with peers and senior leadership
  • Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and lean techniques
  • Prior experience developing resource plans according to changing business needs and priorities
  • Prior experience directing an efficient layout of equipment, flow of materials, and people resources to reduce cost and increase safety, quality and production performance
  • Prior experience building and leading teams, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotion and termination. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations or a related field
  • 5+ years of manufacturing management experience
